Chapter 24 A “wake of insight”

Chapter 24

No Wake Zone

“ We are all responsible for our wake
and any influence it causes ! ”

Floyd has been very patient with me during this past week for not exploring the Delta waterways with her as much as we have done prior to Labor Day.

Our time has been spent doing research, which has, in part, resulted in our published Chapters 22 & 23. The information that we, literally fell upon by chance has created a wake of insight for us . . ., which has changed the direction of our adventure.

Neither Floyd nor I can be termed as a “Cancer Survivor”.

However, Floyd & I have made a commitment to create awareness to find a cure.  We both had tunnel vision as to what that meant when we started our adventure . . . however, are learning . . .

In the “Wake” of opinions and facts, many cancer survivors, via their personal Blogs and organizations like StopBreastCancer.org raise questions as to who benefits most from fundraising efforts . . . “does it create wealth for charities at the expense of time and energy from volunteers . . . or does the net sum of effort benefit “cancer travelers” and their loved ones”?

Without “No Wake Zones”, wakes “could dump someone out of the boat, cause someone to fall down the companionway stairs, swamp a bowrider, and damage a boat at a dock on the shoreline or harm the environment by eroding the shoreline and much more. When your wake causes damage, it could result in very serious consequences”.

How do we protect “cancer travelers” and their loved ones, from the wake created by the;

“Cancer [screening, prevention, awareness, treatment, and research] Industry”?

Floyd & I believe that a “NO WAKE ZONE” needs to be in place for . . .

“Cancer travelers” and their loved ones.

Floyd & I use the term “cancer travelers” because, unfortunately, not all people who have been diagnosed with cancer are survivors, but all are making the journey.

"Leave a wake behind you, that you would want others to leave for you."

From our perspective,
the beginnings of a “NO WAKE ZONE”

 already exists for . . .

“Cancer travelers” and their loved ones.

Through the many Blogs created by and from our loved ones

 who are “Cancer travelers”.

It is through their personal experiences that all readers benefit from

Awake of insight”, that is unfiltered.

Floyd & I encourage our readers to seek out Blogs

created by “Cancer travelers”,

such as those found on the Healthline.org website

Please be aware that these Blogs are only 23 of many thousand Blogs

 created by “Cancer travelers”,

and that maybe those Blogs

that did not make this short list are truly better.

Floyd & I will be getting back on the Delta and promise
to make sure that we . . .

"Leave a wake behind us, that we would want others to leave for us."

Til’ we chat again, Floyd & Joe
